aluminium
windows

Aluminium is an ideal material to use for frames as it’s light and strong and has a slim profile that maximises the glass area. The metal’s strength and flexibility allow for greater design flexibility too.

Aluminium has excellent thermal and sound insulation properties and is a more affordable option when compared to other frame materials.

As it is virtually maintenance free, aluminium is perfect for use in more exposed locations. It does not swell, crack, split or warp over time and so offers an extended product life. Environmental sustainability is also an attractive benefit as the recycling process of aluminium requires just five percent of initial energy which is one of the highest rates compared to other metals. Please note: aluminium can be more expensive than our composite options. Sunflex aluminium windows & doors One of the world’s leading producers of specialist window and door systems for over 30 years, German manufacturer Sunflex leads the way in innovation and design.

Offering countless high-end features, with slim sightlines and contemporary, square-edged profiles throughout, Sunflex aluminium windows are renowned as being the attractive on the market. They are the only German-made systems with a BSI Kitemark certificate.

They are also one of the most weather-tight systems available, with 900Pa water tightness (Class 9A), 600Pa BS EN 12207 air permeability (Class 4), and resistance to a wind load of 1,600Pa (Class A4). Awarded ‘Secured by Design’ accreditation, they are designed and manufactured to police-preferred standards with multiple security features. Sunflex also produce bi-fold doors, sliding doors, French doors, and front doors. Please note: Lead-time for Sunflex windows and doors is approximately 8 weeks, depending on requirements. Alternative aluminium windows We offer alternative aluminium windows produced by leading UK suppliers of aluminium glazing systems.

These windows and doors supplied through Red are manufactured by a trusted fabricator and offer a combination of competitive pricing and good quality. Red offers an extensive product range for both domestic and commercial applications, including windows, entrance doors, sliding and bi-fold doors, and curtain walling. Most products can be built to be ‘Secured by Design’ compliant if required.

composite
windows

Our composite windows offer the perfect blend of aesthetics and practicality - an internal timber frame that can be painted or stained any colour, combined with a powder-coated (Qualicoat standard) aluminium exterior face that requires no decorating and minimal maintenance.

Manufactured in Sweden, these windows employ a true composite system whereby the timber and aluminium are bonded together, meaning no timber is exposed to the elements when the window is shut. This gives a superior life expectancy and no frame shrinkage due to moisture, as would be expected with a timber-only frame.

All our composite windows are manufactured bespoke to the individual client’s requirements and have a lead time of approximately 8 weeks from order to delivery.

timber
windows

No other material looks or feels like real wood. Particularly if you’re living in a period style home, you’ll want to maintain authenticity when replacing windows and doors. Wood can be stained or painted in a wide array of colours.

Modern factory-finished frames are extremely durable and provide high energy and security performance. Timber windows offer simple maintenance and are, of course, made from the most environmentally sustainable material you can choose.

FAQs
What are your payment terms?

Stock items need to be paid 100% upfront, as delivery is normally made within 48 hours.

Our bespoke order payment terms are job-specific - exact terms will be provided when your order requirements are finalised.

What is the manufacturing period?

We generally aim to deliver bespoke items within 6 weeks. Please call us for a more accurate date.

What is the online order process?

Once you have confirmed and paid for your roof light, a confirmation will be sent to you along with confirmation of the day we will be delivering the roof light.

What is the bespoke order process?

We will send you an order confirmation to sign-off stating everything is correct. Once this has all been agreed a pro-forma invoice for the deposit will be sent to you. Once payment has been received we will put the roof light into production and confirm the week we hope to deliver it.

What are the delivery vehicle & off-loading facilities?

The weight of the roof light will be given to you at the time of order and it us up to the purchaser to ensure that there are appropriate means to off-load the product. We are able to offer an off-loading facility (with use of a Hiab vehicle) which will incur additional costs.

All roof lights are delivered on a curtain sided vehicle. Please note that the delivery is to the kerb side only and you will require either the necessary off-loading equipment or enough man power. If a re-delivery is required then additional costs will be incurred.

What are the damage terms and conditions?

All obvious damages must be noted on the delivery note. Any other damages are to be reported within 48 hours of delivery. If this is not adhered to we cannot accept responsibility for any damages to the roof lights.

How do I install the roof light?

The Vitral roof light is relatively straight forward to install. Fitting instructions can be downloaded here. We have approved installers if you are not happy to fit this yourself, please contact our office for further details.

What are the warranty terms and conditions?

The Vitral roof light comes with a comprehensive 10 year warranty, electrical parts are covered for 2 years. This commences from the day of delivery.

The warranty covers the sealed unit of the glass, gaskets and fixings that are associated with the roof light. The warranty is valid if the defect can be proven to be a manufacturing fault and that all installation guidelines have been adhered to.

Do I need to have a pitch on my roof?

We recommend a minimum fall of 5° to allow any water to run off it and up to a maximum of 30°.

Can I use the Vitral roof light instead of a Velux roof light?

Unfortunately, no as the maximum pitch the roof light can go on is 30°.

Do I have to have an upstand for my roof light to sit on?

Yes. This can either be bought with your fixed roof light or you can make one yourself. All of our opening roof lights come with an upstand. Unfortunately, we are unable to supply an upstand for circular roof lights.

When I order a roof light say 1000 x 1000, where is this size taken from?

These are the internal measurements. Some of our competitors give this as the external size. We therefore offer a bigger roof light for your money.

What are your payment terms?

Our bespoke order payment terms are job-specific - exact terms will be provided when your order requirements are finalised.

What is the manufacturing period?

We generally aim to deliver windows and doors within 8 weeks from signed off drawings. Please note that windows and doors coming from Sweden will have a longer delivery time in the Summer due to the factory shutdown in July.

What is the order process?

We will send you an order confirmation for you to sign-off, stating the drawings and specification is correct. Once this has all been agreed a pro-forma invoice for the deposit will be sent to you. Once payment has been received we will put the order into production and confirm the week we hope to deliver it. Please be aware that any changes after this sign-off may incur delays and additional costs.

What are the delivery vehicle & off-loading facilities?

As standard we deliver all of the windows and doors on a curtain sided vehicle. It is up to the client to ensure that they have the necessary means for off-loading the materials e.g. Forklift. All windows and doors are palletised. We ensure that no pallet will weigh more than one tonne, unless previously advised otherwise.

If required, we can arrange to deliver the windows and doors on a smaller vehicle or one that has the capability of off-loading the pallets. This will incur additional costs.

What are the damage terms and conditions?

All obvious damages must be noted on the delivery note. Any other damages are to be reported within 48 hours of delivery. If this is not adhered to we cannot accept responsibility for any damages to the windows or doors.

What are the warranty terms and conditions?

This will vary depending on which product we are supplying. Please contact us for further details

What colours do you offer for the windows and doors?

We can offer our aluminium and composite windows and doors in any standard RAL colour. For our timber window range we can colour match the windows to your choice of colour.

Do you carry out an installation service?

We do not get involved in installing the windows but can recommend some approved installation companies.

What are the maximum and minimum sizes that you can produce?

This will all be dependent on glass specification and the function of the window i.e. is it a side hung or reversible window. Please contact our office with your specific requirements and we will let you know what we can do.

Do I have to maintain my windows and doors?

The simple answer is yes. If you want to prolong the life of the product, you need to look after it (the same you do with your car). We would recommend cleaning the ironmongery and frame at least twice a year. See our operations and maintenance manual.
