aluminium
doors

Aluminium is an ideal material to use for frames as it’s light and strong and has a slim profile that maximises the glass area. The metal’s strength and flexibility allow for greater design flexibility too.

Aluminium has excellent thermal and sound insulation properties and is a more affordable option when compared to other frame materials.

As it is virtually maintenance free, aluminium is perfect for use in more exposed locations. It does not swell, crack, split or warp over time and so offers an extended product life.

Environmental sustainability is also an attractive benefit as the recycling process of aluminium requires just five percent of initial energy which is one of the highest rates compared to other metals.

composite
doors

Our composite doors offer the perfect blend of aesthetics and practicality - an internal timber frame that can be painted or stained any colour combined with a powder-coated (Qualicoat standard) aluminium exterior face that requires no decorating and minimal maintenance.

Manufactured in Sweden, these doors employ a true composite system whereby the timber and aluminium are bonded together, which means no timber is exposed to the elements when the door is shut. This gives a superior life expectancy and no frame shrinkage due to moisture, as would be expected with a timber-only frame.

All our composite doors are manufactured bespoke to the individual client’s requirements and have a lead time of 8 weeks from order to delivery

What are the warranty terms and conditions?

The Vitral roof light comes with a comprehensive 10 year warranty, electrical parts are covered for 2 years. This commences from the day of delivery.

The warranty covers the sealed unit of the glass, gaskets and fixings that are associated with the roof light. The warranty is valid if the defect can be proven to be a manufacturing fault and that all installation guidelines have been adhered to.

Do I need to have a pitch on my roof?

We recommend a minimum fall of 5° to allow any water to run off it and up to a maximum of 30°.

Can I use the Vitral roof light instead of a Velux roof light?

Unfortunately, no as the maximum pitch the roof light can go on is 30°.

Do I have to have an upstand for my roof light to sit on?

Yes. This can either be bought with your fixed roof light or you can make one yourself. All of our opening roof lights come with an upstand. Unfortunately, we are unable to supply an upstand for circular roof lights.

These are the internal measurements. Some of our competitors give this as the external size. We therefore offer a bigger roof light for your money.

The simple answer is yes. If you want to prolong the life of the product, you need to look after it (the same you do with your car). We would recommend cleaning the ironmongery and frame at least twice a year. See our operations and maintenance manual.
